The rugged terrain of the Blue Mountains lends itself to adventure activities that will get the adrenaline pumping. Take a look at the Australian School of Mountaineering for canoeing, canyoning, abseiling, rock climbing, bush walking and other adventure activities.
If you're looking to relax, you can't do better than a picnic at one of the many scenic spots with barbecues and picnic facilities throughout the mountains. At the Echo Point Motor Inn, we would be pleased to provide locations for you to choose from to have your picnic.

The Jenolan Caves, one of Australia's most impressive limestone caves, were discovered in 1838 by a convict bushranger. Select from nine caves with varying degrees of difficulty, spectacular lighting, underground rivers and brilliant formations that are truly breathtaking. The acoustics of the Grand Archway makes Carols by Candlelight at Christmas a truly magical experience for the whole family.
For a total change of pace, the Zig Zag railway will throw you back in time. Enjoy the sites and sounds of a yesteryear; a time before gas, electricity and the motorcar. A time when coal, steam and compartment carriages where the best way to ravel. Just 30 minutes drive from Katoomba CBD, the Zig Zag railway station is located at Clarence, where you can also enjoy picnic and BBQ facilities, browse the souvenir shop or take a bush walk.
The annual Blue Mountains Folk Festival in March, is yet another local event that draws crowds from near and far. Enjoy the talents of a great range of acclaimed artists, covering folk, roots and blues over this three day event, featuring artists from around the world and Australia.
Another great attraction of the Festival is the selection of workshops, demonstrations, instrument making, arts, crafts and the mouth watering food fair.
